With many years of experience as an orchestral musician and solo performer, I can guide you through the intricate nuances of the oboe and English horn. I tailor my instruction to meet the needs of each individual student, pinpointing their strengths and weaknesses, and customizing my approach to ensure everyone has a good time!
I also offer lessons to beginner bassoonists. Weather you're just starting your musical journey in grade 7, are a skilled musician looking to learn a new instrument, or are an adult looking to pick up your first instrument, I am here to guide you through the beginning stages of playing the bassoon.
Are you tired of struggling to make reeds? Or are you tired of buying all kinds of mass-produced reeds that just end up in the trash? After spending many years making reeds, learning different techniques, taking lessons with different teachers, and reading countless books, I have developed my own approach to reed making. My approach is hassle free, easy to understand, and will have you making your own reeds in no time.
Please note that I only offer reed making lessons for oboe/English horn, not bassoon.
Every year I put together a recital in the West Island for my students and any other students who are interested in participating! It gives everyone an opportunity to perform in a low-stress environment for their peers. Every performer receives an audio and video recording of their performance, and we hold a potluck after the recital for everyone to mingle!
